Global Soccer Community Stands with Megan Rapinoe

Athlete Ally Pro Ambassador and US Women’s National Soccer Team co-captain and forward Megan Rapinoe is dedicated to using her platform to champion the causes she believes in, from racial justice to gender and LGBTQ equality. She’s faced backlash for speaking out, and yet remains committed to using her global platform at the Women’s World Cup and beyond for good. She exemplifies the power of athletes calling for the change they hope to see.

We’re proud to stand with pro soccer players across the US and internationally in supporting Megan through the solidarity statement below.

As athletes, allies and advocates, we stand with Megan Rapinoe and her right to speak out on the issues she believes in. Rapinoe is being told to “stick to sports,” and yet issues of discrimination affect all of us. We choose to use our platforms to champion equality and inclusion. When we stand united, we all win.
