NFL “National Anthem” Policy is Shameful. Full Athlete Ally Statement
Athlete Ally Executive Director Hudson Taylor responds to the new NFL policy on forcing players to stand for the National Anthem, or be fined.
“Today, the NFL only further perpetuated the systematic oppression facing marginalized communities in this country. Their attempt to silence their players and diminish athlete activism is shameful. Athlete Ally supports the NFLPA’s review and potential challenge of the policy. We won’t stop fighting until all athletes have the ability to use their platform in the fight for social justice.”
