Hosting a viewing party or event for Athlete Ally is simple, social, and fun. It’s a great way to help Athlete Ally raise essential financial support in the fight to make sports a safer place for everyone. Whether it’s for the Super Bowl, World Series, World Cup, your favorite college team game, or your birthday, consider hosting a party or event for Athlete Ally, and supporting one of your favorite causes!
FOUR STEPS TO HOSTING
1. MARK YOUR CALENDAR
Set a date, time, and location, based on when the sporting event is taking place. Athlete Ally needs your support year-round.
2. LET US KNOW
Before your event, let Athlete Ally know about the party you’re hosting, and that we’re the beneficiary. Contact Development Director Mitch Mathias at mitch.mathias@athleteally.org. This way, we can make sure you have materials and tools needed for the event to be a success; and that we can make sure donations are processed and collected accurately and effciently.
3. SHARE + PROMOTE YOUR PARTY
Tell people about the party, sharing promotional tools or graphics supplied by Athlete Ally. We can share info with you about who we are, and what we do, although the most compelling message is often putting into your own words why you support Athlete Ally and are choosing to have this event support our work.
4. HOST THE EVENT & COLLECT FUNDS
Have a successful event, and raise funds there – and in advance and/or after the event – to support Athlete Ally! If people can’t make it, they can still make donations online in your honor (as long as they let us know). Circle back to Athlete Ally staff with questions about how to get the donations to us, and any receipts or acknowledgements needed for hosting the party and/or donations made.
