Athletes Already Have Our Attention. We’re Training Them to Utilize It.
Athlete Ally Communications Lead Taylor Carr on college sports and the case for athlete-led change.
This issue, we’re celebrating the athletes, coaches, and teams who chose their teammates over the sideline noise. Every story here started the same way: someone decided that silence wasn’t an option.
What struck me putting this issue together wasn’t the size of the gesture — it was how ordinary it felt to the people who made it. A team sitting down. A coach picking up the phone. A photographer showing up to document a season nobody else was watching. That’s the whole point of Athlete Voice: the game changes one decision at a time, and this month, we’re telling you about a few of them.
