“I choose to fight for inclusion for all in sports, but especially hockey because I don’t want anyone to feel like they have to choose between the sport they love and living the life they’ve always dreamed of. Why can’t you can have it all? Hockey has given me so many incredible opportunities that it’s hard to believe I gave it up for years, and I don’t want others to feel like they have to do what I did. If you work hard, put in the time and effort, and have the skill to play an elite level there shouldn’t be anything holding you back, especially not other peoples opinions.”
