KOBAYASHI performs hot-dog eating spectacular in a fundraiser for LGBT community

Where: The Gatehouses at Kings County Distillery, 299 Sands Street at the Dumbo entrance of the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

When: Monday July 4th. Party from 3pm-10pm. Performance begins around 6pm.

NEW YORK (July 1, 2016) Fifteen years ago at his Coney Island debut, Takeru Kobayashi ate an astonishing 50 hot dogs, doubling the previous record and forever transforming the world of competitive eating. He has since become a global celebrity and a pop-culture icon (featured in a SNL sketch, immortalized with his own TOPPS trading cards). He remains the World Record Holder—69 hotdogs in 10 minutes—and Kobayashi has since taken his 4th of July mega-eating on the road. This year, he will pound dogs to raise funds for the employees, survivors and victims’ families of Pulse. Come cheer him on and pledge a donation for each hot dog he eats!

This will be the first time Kobayashi’s party will be a fundraiser. He wishes all guests to cheer him on and pledge a donation for each hot dog he eats. All funds raised will go to the employees, survivors and victims’ families of Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Fla and Athlete Ally, a national organization that seeks to end homophobia and transphobia in sports.

The party will be held at The Gatehouses, the gorgeous new tasting room of Kings County Distillery. Just two months old, it is already Brooklyn’s most exciting new bar, serving cocktails, tastes and flights of Kings County Distillery’s handmade whiskeys. Bring your bathing suit to the Dunk Tank and your friends can Dunk You for Pulse. Come celebrate independence with the legendary Princess Diandra & Tobel Von Cartier. Fleishers Hot Dogs and Hamburgers will be served. The outdoor garden is a prime location to view the East River fireworks.
