Karen Bryant Joins Athlete Ally Board of Directors

More great news to start the new year!

Karen Bryant, one of the most influential women in professional sports management, has joined the Athlete Ally Board of Directors.

Karen started her career in professional sports working in the front office of the American Basketball League’s Seattle Reign.  After the ABL folded, the Seattle SuperSonics recruited Karen to help accomplish a major goal: bring a WNBA team to Seattle.

Karen succeeded, and she joined the staff of the WNBA’s Seattle Storm for their inaugural season in 2000.  She worked her way to the top, becoming the president and CEO of the Storm in 2008.  In her many years with the team, the Storm won two WNBA championships and became known throughout the league as a model franchise.

Karen was herself recognized as a pioneer of community engagement, getting involved with the Boys and Girls Clubs of King County, Special Olympics Washington, Girls Scouts – Totem Council and King County Sexual Assault Resource Center.  She is a passionate leader, a gifted speaker, and a seasoned executive ambassador to several non-profit organizations, especially those serving women and girls.

She is currently President of Suite J Consulting and works with clients on growth strategies and long-range planning.

We’re very lucky to have someone with Karen’s experience, resources, and drive joining our team.  She is the latest addition to our hard-working and dedicated board, who have been such a key part of our success.

We’ll keep you updated on more news from our team.  We’re looking forward to a year of great progress.
